With N.J. red light cameras about to go dark, fight to restart them begins in Newark

A red light camera on McCarter Highway near the corner of Edison Pl. in Newark. Mayor Ras Baraka and lawmakers who lead the city want to keep the program going, even though it's set to expire on Dec. 16 TRENTON - With New Jersey's 73 red light cameras set to go dark in just two weeks , the mayor of the cash-strapped city of Newark and a group of lawmakers who represent it are planning a fight to resurrect them.
