Fed labor agency files complaint over East Rutherford, Secaucus buildings

Former employees at two high profile office buildings along Route 3 are the focus of a complaint by federal labor officials that accuses a cleaning and janitorial contractor for the buildings' new owners of discriminating against the unionized workers. An administrative law judge will hear testimony on Feb. 3 in Newark on a National Labor Relations Board complaint that Eastern Essential Services refused to hire certain workers to clean One Metropolitan Plaza, in East Rutherford, and 300 Lighting Way, in Secaucus, because of their union ties.
