Newark man slain in city's 93rd homicide

Shahid Finch, of Newark, was shot on the 500th block of Central Avenue around 6 p.m., Anthony Ambrose, chief of detectives for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, said in a statement. Finch was taken to University Hospital, where he died from his injuries at 7:12 p.m., according to Ambrose.
