Newark man, shot by city police officer, charged with resisting arrest, related offenses

NEWARK - A Newark man who was shot by a city police officer last month has been charged with resisting arrest and related offenses in connection with the incident. Ibn Coates, 27, is also facing charges of making terroristic threats, possession of a loaded gun, and possession of marijuana, said Katherine Carter, spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
