Nicole Barnett scored 12 points, but it was not enough to spare the Lions from a narrow loss to Newark Tech in Sunday's Festival of Phoenix, including teams from as far away as Alabama, at University High School in Newark. Kiersten Librizzi added nine points, five rebounds and three assists for Pope John, which suffered its first loss of the young season.
