Mary Ann Beck, of Southern Pines, N.C., dies at age 84

A memorial service for Mary Ann Beck, formerly of the township, will be held Wednesday, March 4, at noon at the Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 330 S. May St., Southern Pines, N.C. Born in Newark, she grew up and lived in Millburn Township until 1983. Mrs. Beck was the wife of late Paul Beck, who served as the head track and field coach at Millburn High School for 33 years and the school district's director of athletics from 1976 until his retirement in 1982.
