Former Rockaway school superintendent sentenced to house arrest, fine

Gary Vitta, former superintendent of Rockaway Township Public Schools, has been sentenced to one year of house arrest and a $10,000 fine. Gary Vitta, the former superintendent of Rockaway Township Public Schools, was sentenced last week to one year of house arrest and a $10,000 fine for pleading guilty to attempted witness tampering, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Newark.
