Perks of the Port Authority: no airport lines and golf cart rides to the gate

NEWARK - When Port Authority commissioner David Steiner arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport last year for a United Airlines flight to Palm Beach, Fla., a police and airport operations escort was waiting to help him get through the terminal to his gate. His wife, Sylvia, was provided a similar courtesy by the Port Authority a few months earlier for a JetBlue flight out of Newark to Logan International Airport in Boston.
