$16K separates highest Essex property taxes from lowest

According to the state's annual property tax report , released by the Department of Community Affairs, property taxes in Essex County ranged from $5,365 to $21,706 last year, with Newark on the low end, and Millburn on the high end. Millburn reported the second highest average property tax value in the state for 2014, behind only Tavistock in Camden County - a town of about five residents where the average tax bill is $25,346, the report said.
