Newark man found not guilty of assaulting city cops, reaching for officer's gun

NEWARK - A Newark man was acquitted today on charges of assaulting two city cops and reaching for an officer's gun when he was being arrested last year for heroin possession. Darnell Reed, 30, was convicted of resisting arrest, but found not guilty of the other seven counts against him, including drug-related offenses and aggravated assault charges.
