Police were investigating Friday afternoon after a man was found shot to death in the back of a store in Newark. Police said the man's body was found Friday afternoon in the back of the Level's Variety Store, at 850 S. Orange Ave. in Newark, Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a homicide investigation was under way late Friday afternoon, according to police and the Essex County Prosecutor's office.
