NEWARK - As the murder trial of Richard Whatley began today, the attorneys agreed that he fatally shot Teshon Clegg in 2013 during a fight at a Memorial Day party in Newark. But while the prosecutor claimed Whatley committed an act of murder, the defense attorney argued he acted in self-defense.
