N.J. authorities charge 4 more with Hurricane Sandy fraud

TRENTON - State authorities today charged four more New Jerseyans with filing fraudulent applications for Hurricane Sandy relief money, bringing the total during the past year to 27. Fred Perone, 80, and Anne Perone, 78, of Bonita Springs, Fla., allegedly received $91,900 in relief money by falsely claiming a storm-damaged home they own in Long Beach was their primary residence at the time of the storm, when in fact it was in Florida, authorities said. Farry Bouza, 38, of Orange, allegedly collected $22,804 in relief money for property damage, rental assistance and moving expenses by claiming he was displaced from an apartment in Newark and had to relocate to Irvington, when he didn't live in either place.
