City council committee grills landlord after complaints of rats, faulty heat

NEWARK - Newark city council members questioned today the landlord of a building where city officials said tenants endured faulty heat, rat-invested rooms and structurally weak buildings. During a meeting of the city council's housing committee at-large councilman Eddie Osborne Central Ward councilman Gayle Chaneyfield Jenkins and East Ward councilman Augusto Amador pressed Realty Management Associates to explain the management of its buildings.
