On Friday, left wings Taylor Leier and Darroll Powe were assigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL by the parent club Philadelphia Flyers, bringing the total assigned to the Phantoms to 21. In addition, the Flyers also placed right wing Andrew Gordon and defensemen Oliver Lauridsen and Brandon Manning on waivers for the purpose of assigning them to the Phantoms tomorrow. The 20-year-old Leier, in his first professional season, Leier appeared in two preseason games for the Flyers and also scored two goals for the Phantoms in an AHL preseason game in Newark, N.J. last Tuesday.
