Murray and Newark Police Director Eugene Venable said Newark police were called to the area of Avon Avenue and Stratford Place in the city's Central Ward around 8:30 p.m., where they found an adult male unconscious on the sidewalk. His name is not being released because his family has yet to be informed of his death, according to Carter.
