Proposed deal could breathe new life into Newark hospital: Opinion

The Franciscan Sisters of the Poor brought their ministry of caring for the sick and poor to Newark more than 150 years ago, and since then, Saint Michael's Medical Center has served and remained steadfastly committed to the greater Newark community. Unfortunately, because of the changing healthcare landscape, our financial losses have become unsustainable.
