Glimpse of History: The clothing king of Market and Halsey in Newark

NEWARK - This circa-1900 photo shows H. King's clothing store at the corner of Market and Halsey streets in Newark. Various signs around the shop show the going rate for men's attire at the turn of the century: straw hats sold for 66 cents, pants for 98 cents and three-piece suits cost $5.98.
