Attorneys delivered their closing statements today in the trial of Darnell Reed, 30, of Newark, who is accused of assaulting two Newark police officers when they were arresting him for heroin possession. NEWARK - The attorney for a Newark man accused of assaulting two city cops during a drug arrest claimed today the officers planted heroin on him to justify beating him up.
