NEWARK - The son of a Newark police officer was shot and killed in the city's North Ward late Tuesday night, authorities said. Elijah Adams, 25, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the area of 1st Street and 6th Avenue at around 11:28 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Eugene Venable said in a statement.
