Prosecutors dismiss remaining charge against Essex sheriff's officer in harassment case

NEWARK - Prosecutors today dismissed the remaining charge against an Essex County Sheriff's officer accused of threatening a woman in 2012, leaving him with only $325 in fines for being convicted of a petty disorderly persons offense. John Warnock, 40, of Newark, was acquitted by a Hudson County jury on Oct. 2 of official misconduct, criminal restraint and making terroristic threats.
