Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo thinks that Newark would be the perfect city to host a casino, and he's letting Gov. Chris Christie and other elected officials know how he feels. On Dec. 3, DiVincenzo announced that he sent letters to Gov. Christie, Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney, and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto to recommend Newark be first in line to consider opening a casino, should state law be changed to allow casinos outside of Atlantic City.
