Appellate court hears arguments in Crossroads conflict case

A mall at the International Crossroads has been approved by the Planning Board, but the legal wrangling over the controversial development continued as an attorney for a residents' group asked an appeals court to decide whether a conflict of interest existed when the site was rezoned. Three judges from the New Jersey Superior Court's Appellate Division in Newark heard oral arguments Wednesday from Michael Kates, the attorney for the Committee to Stop the Mahwah Mall, concerning former Council President John DaPuzzo deciding vote to rezone the property for retail.
